How it works

Members can reach level II by demonstrating at least 2 years practical experience and learning in relevant audits. This can be achieved either by using the log-book over a two year period, or by documenting prior learning and submitting this for accreditation. There will also be an online exercise testing the auditor's observation skills and ability to generate findings and these will need to be submitted with the logbook for examination.
Members can reach level III by demonstrating a further 2 years practical experience and learning in relevant audits, and passing an assessed case study that will cover all aspects of an audit.
Throughout the programme there is a strong emphasis on the learning aspect of the 2 years experience as this is the key to development, and this is what makes a good CPD scheme stand out from a stand alone training package. Learning should be continuous and lifelong.
The annual subscription for the scheme is £50.
How much time will it take me?
For the future
It is intended to increase the range of entry modules as soon as possible to allow auditors working in all research quality assurance disciplines to enter the scheme. We also hope to find ways to recognise the experience and learning of more senior professionals who may not be active as auditors on a regular basis. Ultimately we hope to offer an e-learning portfolio to replace the paper logbook for anyone that wants to use it.
